Dr Paul Leinster, Chief Executive

Dr Paul Leinster is the Chief Executive of the Environment Agency. Up until the end of May 2008 he was the Director of Operations and prior to this he was the Director of Environmental Protection having joined the Environment Agency in 1998.

Paul's previous employers include SmithKline Beecham, BP International and Schering Agrochemicals.

Paul has a degree in Chemistry and a PhD in environmental engineering from Imperial College and an MBA from the Cranfield School of Management. He was awarded the CBE in 2009.
